Ang Mo Kio Town Council conservancy worker Saripah Bte Md Nani is someone who’s got her base firmly situated in Ang Mo Kio – she works and lives in the estate.
She has lived in Ang Mo Kio since 1987 with her late husband and two children. Even after her husband passed away, she chose not to move out of the estate as she is comfortable living in the area.
“Over time, I decided to work here as well due to the job’s proximity to my home. The working hours are also great, and I can focus on household chores when I knock off,” she shared enthusiastically.
She works six days a week from 7am to noon. During her free time, she reads newspapers to keep herself updated with the news.
Through her job, she has dedicated much time and effort in ensuring that Blk 433 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 stays spick and span. In fact, with her 13 years of experience on the job, she is the longest-serving conservancy worker in Ang Mo Kio Town Council.
To recognise her commitment and dedication, Mdm Saripah was awarded a certificate of appreciation in August this year.
A familiar face in the area, she is often met with morning greetings from residents.
“The residents here are so friendly and kind. They always wave and nod to me, and during festive seasons such as Hari Raya and Chinese New Year, some residents even give me angpows (red packets),” shared the 69-year-old cheerfully.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to contribute in some way to my estate and serve the community. If my health permits, I will try my best to work here for as long as I can,” she added.

莎丽芭（Saripah Bte Md Nani）是宏茂桥市镇理事会服务年资最长的清洁工。她也是宏茂桥的居民，在这里住了将近35年。莎丽芭每周工作六天，维持宏茂桥10道第433座组屋的清洁。她工作勤恳尽责，今年8月获颁感谢状。她说：“我很高兴能够付出绵力，为社区服务。只要健康没问题，我会继续尽心尽力，在这里工作。”

Cik Saripah Bte Md Nani telah menetap di Ang Mo Kio sejak 1987. Beliau juga seorang pekerja penyenggaraan yang paling lama berkhidmat di Majlis Bandaran Ang Mo Kio. Beliau telah meluangkan banyak masa dan tenaga untuk memastikan Blk 433 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 kekal bersih. Beliau berkata: “Saya senang dapat menyumbang kepada estet saya dan berkhidmat untuk masyarakat. Sekiranya kesihatan saya mengizinkan, saya akan berusaha sedaya upaya untuk bekerja di sini selama mungkin.”

திருவாட்டி சரிபா பிந்தி முகம்மது நானி 1987 முதல் அங் மோ கியோவில் வசித்து வருகிறார். அங் மோ கியோ நகர மன்றத்தில் ஆக நீண்டகாலம் சேவையாற்றிவரும் பராமரிப்பு ஊழியர் அவர். அங் மோ கியோ அவென்யூ 10ல் உள்ள புளோக் 433 தூய்மையாக இருப்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்த அவர் நிறைய நேரமும் உழைப்பும் அர்ப்பணித்திருக்கிறார். “நான் வாழும் குடியிருப்பு வட்டாரத்திற்கும் சமூகத்திற்கும் ஏதாவது ஒரு வகையில் பங்களித்து சேவை செய்ய இயல்வது எனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது. என் உடல்நலன் அனுமதித்தால், என்னால் முடிந்தவரை இங்கு வேலை செய்ய முயற்சி செய்வேன்,” என்றார் அவர்.
